"GOLDEN RULE: TREAT OTHERS HOW YOU WANT TO BE TREATED!"
It seems so simple, but why do we make it so complex? The world would be a much better place if we all abide by the basic principle of the “GOLDEN RULE”.
I feel like it becomes such a foreign concept because we don’t truly realize nor internalize that ‘OTHERS’ are simply reflections or versions of ourselves in real time. For whatever reason there is a disconnect with that philosophy or ideology. Many may feel that because ‘OTHERS’ are outside of oneself that they are separate and not a part of the body of ONE.
So the challenge then becomes to remain connected by staying attune and in synch with ‘OTHERS’ surrounding you especially the ones to whom you are more intimately connected. To do this requires a heightened level of mindfulness and discernment. Mindfulness and discernment allow you to think and feel before acting or reacting.
Being consistent in strengthening the skills of mindfulness and discernment will aid in abiding by and underscoring the GOLDEN RULE. You are able to slow down and really think and feel your way through before making a move. Questions to be had during the meditation/reflection/introspection are:
- Would I want this said/done to me?
- Does this act/behavior help one grow in love? Is it of love?
- How does it make me feel? (Is it uplifting or detrimental?)
- Am I being authentic and standing in my integrity?
In Bringing Forth a New You, my goal is to make the GOLDEN RULE my primary focus and guide as I continue to move and transform along this journey called life. This is and will forever be a core principle to live by. As long as the GOLDEN RULE remains foundational, you can guarantee success in solidifying a new and improved version of you. You should, then, command reciprocity of this core principle from all relationships worth having in your life. For this is truly key to living a life more abundantly! Asê🙌🏾🙏🏽
